One of the most common questions hunters ask is: “When is dove season in Texas?” Because Cross Creek Ranch is located in the Texas South Zone, hunters have multiple opportunities throughout the fall and winter season.
2026 Texas South Zone Dove Season
Regular Season
- September 1 – October 25, 2026
- December 18, 2025 – January 21, 2027
Texas dove season is one of the most popular hunting seasons in the state, especially in the South Zone where white-winged and mourning dove populations create excellent hunting opportunities during migration periods. Texas Dove Hunting Regulations
All hunters are responsible for following current Texas Parks & Wildlife regulations.
Daily Bag Limit
15 white-winged, mourning, and white-tipped doves combined
- No more than 2 mourning doves and 2 white-tipped doves on Special White-winged Dove Days
Possession Limit
Three times the daily bag limit
Legal Shooting Hours
- Regular Season: 30 minutes before sunrise to sunset
- Special White-Winged Days: Noon to sunset
